Explore the wonders
of the Coorong

Kingston SE is situated at the Southern end of the unique Coorong National park, so it is an ideal base from which to explore its wonders.

The setting for the film of Colin Thiele's novel Storm Boy, the Coorong forms a 145km ribbon curving along the coast and is a spectacular wetlands area rich in birdlife, particularly pelicans, which feature in the film.

Made up of a shallow lagoon and a series of salt pans, the Coorong is separated from the sea by the huge sand dunes locally referred to as 'the Hummocks', which make up the Younghusband Peninsula.

The Coorong is also a favourite fishing haunt.
